Robert Stokes "Bobby" Cales, 82, of 50 Lonnie Mann Rd, Hilldale, died at 12:18 pm, November 21, 2016, at Greystone, Beaver.
Born August 18, 1934, at Hinton, he was the son of the late Brady and Virginia Chattin Cales.
Bobby was a retired Brakeman/Conductor for C&O Railway. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Talcott High School, and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church at Hilldale. He enjoyed hunting, traveling, playing the guitar, and dancing
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Dana Robert Cales, a brother Charles Edward Cales, and a sister Phyllis McCullough.
Survivors include, his wife of 59 years, Peggy Mann Cales, two daughters, Julie Cales and Deirdre Cales both of South St. Paul, Minnesota, a sister Patricia Baranowski of Belleville, Texas. Four grandchildren also survive, Alicia Moye, Greg Moye, Kristen Cales and companion Brent Hatcher, Ariel Smith and companion Greg Leija, and one great grandchild, Juliette Leija.
A celebration of his life will be held Saturday at 1:00 pm at the Mt Pisgah Methodist Church at Hilldale, with Pastor Betty Shields and Pastor Eugene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow at the Keaton Cemetery, Greenville, WV. Friends may call from 12:00 to 1:00 pm at the church.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church.
