Ronald Sanford Caldwell, 81, of Riverside Rest passed away Wednesday, May 19 at Hinton ARH hospital.

He was born January 9, 1940 at Ballengee, WV to James E and Edith Butler Caldwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Sidney Curtis of Covington, VA. and James Melvin of Salem, VA. Sister Janice Sue of Ballengee WV.

He is survived by brothers Jerold and wife Meredith if Athens, TN and Charles and wife Jennifer of Quinton, VA; two sisters, Judy Hare of Russellville, AR and Frances Parker of Riverside Rest, WV; Sister-in-law Angela Caldwell of Covington, VA. Numerous nieces and nephews.

He attended Talcott High School and then enlisted in the Navy. He was a self-employed construction/contractor for several years. In later life, he was a caregiver for his mother. He enjoyed baseball, basketball, remodeling his home, He was artistic and enjoyed drawing when younger. He took pride in his work. He was a believer in Christ and was a member of Pence Springs Community Church.

At his request, cremation services have been provided by Pivont Funeral Home and an interment will be held at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery.
