Ronnie Lee Gross, 71 of White Oak passed away Saturday September 28, 2024 at Specialty Select Hospital in Charleston following a short illness.

Born March 21, 1953, in Hinton, he was the son of the late Roland V. and Ethel Mae Adkins Gross.

Ronnie was a 1971 graduate of Hinton High School and a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from the Beckley VA Medical Center after many years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a lifelong resident of Summers and Raleigh counties and especially loved spending time with family and friends.

Besides his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Ward Gross on September 2, 2019. Also preceded by four brothers, Michael, Jim and Billy Gross and Tommy Adkins and two sisters, Pearley L. Angell and Lola Jean Wills.

Left to cherish Ronnie's memory are two children, Christopher Gross of White Oak and Dora Lee Gross of Beckley; one brother, Jerry Gross of Big Island, VA; four sisters, Jo Ann Burks of Big Island, VA, Dixie Bennett of Nimitz, WV, Darlene Ludwig and husband David of Cool Ridge, WV, Shirley Cobaugh and husband Chuck of Akron, OH and Phyllis Manderschield and husband Don of Spokane, WA; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 2, 2024 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Upland Cemetery at Upland, WV. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
