Roscoe Harold Lilly, 90 of Pipestem, WV entered into eternal rest at Princeton Community Hospital on Sunday October 30, 2016, following a long battle with pneumonia and congestive heart failure.

Born April 16, 1926 at Pipestem, he was the son of the late James Thomas and Effie Rena Miller Lilly. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family and lived his entire life at Pipestem.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Lucille Winebarger Lilly on June 10, 2005 and a six hour old son, George Thomas Lilly on June 4, 1957; four sisters, Ida Mae Houchins Switzer, Grace Trusby Houchins, Hazel Marie Phillips and Charlene Virginia Keaton; three brothers, Thomas "Earl", James Robert "Bob" and  "Billy" Sunday Lilly.

Roscoe is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donald Ray and Rosemary Winebarger of Atkins, VA, daughter and son-in-law, Rena Mae and Charles Ray Farley, I of Pipestem. His greatest pride and joy, grandson, Travis Michael Wirt of Bluefield, WV, grandsons, Charles "Ray" Farley, II and wife Heather of Princeton, WV, granddaughter, Rebecca Ann Reed and husband David of Beckley, WV. Two great grandsons, Hunter Thomas Farley and Colton Blake Reed.

Heis also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his grand dog, Lily Mae. His special caregiver of four years, Sandy Trail, employee of ResCare, is deeply appreciated for her kindness and loving care. She and her family are now our family.

Roscoe was a born again Christian and a member of Cooks Chapel Baptist Church at Pipestem. He retired from the maintenance department of Pipestem State Park. As long as his health permitted, he loved gardening and insisted upon straight rows with no weeds. He enjoyed bee keeping, mowing his yard, and caring for numerous berries, grapes and fruit trees.

Roscoe was also an avid hunter, especially deer and turkey. He taught his son, grandson, nephews and may others the art of hunting and gun safety. One of his hobbies included reloading his own gun shells.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday November 3, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Dallas Peyton and Roy Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Lilly Family Cemetery at Pipestem. Friends and family may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
