Roy Roger Smith, Sr., 78 of Tug Creek, passed away Tuesday March 16, 2021 at Beckley A.R.H. Hospital.

Born June 14, 1942 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Samuel G. and Leva Graham Smith.

Mr. Smith was a punch print operator for Gilbarco Corporation in North Carolina for many years. Roy enjoyed hunting and gardening and was a member of Ramp Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Velma Richards,  Zelma Koury and Armemta Richmond.

Survivors include two sons, Roy Smith, Jr. (Leigh Buckner) of Greensboro, NC and Samuel L. Smith (Effran) of Stewart, VA; two daughters, Linda Carol Smith of Longview, TX and Kimberly Smith of Flat Top, WV; four brothers, Willard Smith of Greensboro, NC and Charles, Ronnie and Samuel G. Smith, all of Hinton; three sisters, Juanita Wills of Greensboro, NC, Janet Smith of Columbus, OH and Marie Ratliff of Beckley; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday March 19, 2021 at the Smith-Graham Cemetery at Tug Creek with Pastor Felix Baker officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the services are asked to meet at the cemetery.
