Russell Gene Lowry II, affectionately known as "Lil Russ," age 57, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 24, 2026.

He was born on July 13, 1969, in Ronceverte, West Virginia, to Russell G. Lowry and the late Bonnie Huston Brumit.

Lil Russ spent much of his childhood and teenage years on the Willowood Golf Course, developing a lifelong passion for the game. In his earlier years, he achieved his dream of becoming a golf professional at the Kanawha Country Club in Charleston. He later worked for the CSX Railroad for 16 years before retiring due to disability. Lil Russ always held a deep love for his home state and dreamed of eventually returning to West Virginia. Above all his accomplishments, Lil Russ's greatest joy was being a devoted father and he loved spending time with his son, Brennan.

He is survived by his dad, Russell Lowry and wife Norma of Talcott, West Virginia; his beloved son, Brennan Lowry of Clover, South Carolina; many loving cousins; and his special friends, Sherry, Joe, and Pixie McIntyre.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Huston Brumit; his sister, Tara Titta; and his grandparents, William Dean and Wanda Lowry, and James and Charlotte Huston.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Pivont Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Ballengee, West Virginia. Friends may visit from 12:00 pm until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Patrick Jordan, Jimmy Fox, Shawn Titta, Joe McIntyre, Tom Hardbarger, and Todd Jackson.

Honored to serve as honorary pallbearers are Pat Jordan, Ranny Rhodes, David Staley, and Ed Yates.
