Ruth Stanley passed away at Summers Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, May 31, 2022, after a short illness.

Born March 2, 1931, at Upland, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late John V. Grimmett, Sr., and Eva P. Abbott Grimmett.

Ruth graduated from Hinton High School. After high school, she married and shortly thereafter moved to Florida, where she attended a Beauty Academy and opened her own business.  She loved her profession. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Dillon, and Thomas Stanley, three brothers, John V. Grimmett, Jr., Robert Grimmett, and William Grimmett, and three sisters, Margaret Richmond, Ella Jean Martin, and Ruby Wilson.

She is survived by one sister, Helen L. Mock, and two sisters-in-law, Wanda Grimmett, and Pauline Angell.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, including two special nieces, who were her care givers, Linda Turner, and Donna Bowles, and also a special friend, James "Jimmy" Lilly.

Ruth was very loved and will be missed by everyone who was blessed to know her.

A graveside service, and burial, will be held at the Upland Cemetery, on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Ronald Cobb officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Those attending the service can meet at the cemetery.
