Sadie Carol Grimmett, 67, of Woodrum Town, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at her home, following a long illness.

Born, May 8, 1952, in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Doug, and Garnet Meador Cox.

She was retired from the Summers Nursing Home & Rehabilitation, at Hilldale, with 30 years of service. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church of Powley's Creek, and she enjoyed Bible Study.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jason Grimmett, a sister, Shelvia Beheler, and three brothers, Clarence Junior Cox, Osby Cox, and Duard Lee Cox.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wayne Grimmett, a son Michael Grimmett and a special son at heart, Douglas Long and wife Lora of Clarksburg, WV.  Two brothers, Charles Cox and Roy Lee Cox both of Hinton, and five sisters, Sylvia Howard of Stafford, Virginia, Joyce Fox of Hilldale, Linda Osborne of Beckley, Goldie Ward of Hinton, and Sandra Lane of Hilldale, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, in Hinton, with Pastor John Offenberger officiating.  Burial will follow at the Farley Cemetery, at Pipestem.  Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
