Scottie Arnold Adkins, 42 of 201 2nd Ave. Hinton died Friday January 1, 2016 at his home.

Born August 10, 1973 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Bobby and Mary Ward Adkins.

Scottie attended Hinton High School and was a self-employed roofer. He was a lifelong resident of Hinton and enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-sister, Cathy Adkins.

Survivors include a son, Isaiah Zimmerman of Hinton. One brother, B.J. Adkin s & fiancee' Elizabeth Reed of Hinton. Two half-brothers, Kenny Adkins of Hinton and Bobby Adkins, II of Lynchburg, VA. Five half-sisters, Brenda Smith of Alderson, Bonnie Raines of Hinton, Lisa Meador of Hinton, and Tina and Becky Hammonds, both of Hinton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday January 8, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Rodes officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery at Brooks. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
