Scotty Joe Richmond, 49 of Keeney Mountain Road, Sandstone, passed away Tuesday November 17, 2020 at Beckley A.R.H. Hospital following a long illness.

Born October 31, 1971 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Homer E. and Mattie Jane Ward Richmond.

Scotty was a retired Master Sergeant with the United States Army with 21 years of service.  He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed the outdoors. Scotty loved his children dearly and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his biological father, Larry Grimmett; three brothers, Jeddy , Gary and Danny "Rookie" Richmond.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Wheeler Richmond; biological mother, Joyce Richmond of Hix, WV; two daughters, Cadence and Harmony Richmond, both of Sandstone, WV; two brothers, Eddie and Shawn Richmond, both of Hix, WV; two sisters, Shirley Sharp of Pikeville, KY and Judy Marcoyannakis (Orestos) of Richmond VA; eight step grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial for Scotty will be held at a later date.
