Shawn Dewayne Adkins, 43 of Hinton died Wednesday September 22, 2021 at Beckley A.R.H. Hospital following a short illness.

Born December 31, 1977 in Hinton, he was the son of Alice Faye Cox Adkins of Hinton and the late Randall W. Adkins, Sr.

Shawn was a former employee of Southern Soil Conservation and the maintenance department at the Summers County Court House. He loved working on cars, hunting and watching Western movies. He will be missed by his entire family and also friends.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Cox Adkins of Hinton; fiancee' Kelly Lankford of Hinton; two sons, Shawn Adkins, Jr. and Bo Adkins, both of Hinton and one daughter, Hope Adkins of Hinton; three step-sons, whom he dearly loved, Adam, James and Nathan Lankford, all of Hinton; one brother, Randall W. Adkins, Jr. and wife Tammy of Waynesboro, VA; uncle Kenneth Cox of Cool Ridge and aunt, Patricia Meador of Hinton, along with several cousins also survive.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday September 24, 2021 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral
