Shirley Jane Boland, 83, of Nimitz, went to be with her Lord and Savior,  Sunday March 8, 2020 in a Petersburg Care facility following a long illness.

Born December 13, 1936 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Kirby Nathan and Bertha Hogan Lane.

Ms. Boland was a graduate of Hinton High School and was a former telephone operator. She attended the Primitive Baptist Church.  She was a devoted Christian, with a love for Christ and the salvation He brought into the world.  She loved her home and especially loved to cook for her beloved family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrell Boland and two sisters, June Allen and Rowena Tassos.

Survivors include one son, Mitch Boland and wife Susan of Shady Spring; one daughter, Shari Thompson and husband Dr. Steve of Petersburg, WV; one sister, Garnet Cooper; seven grandchildren, Casey, Elyse and Allyson Boland, Rachel Judy (John), Seth Thompson (Stasia), Marley Thompson and Zane Thompson; two great grandchildren, Addie Boland and Reed Judy along with several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday March 11, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton, with Wayne Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in Lilly-Crews Cemetery at Nimitz. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
