Shirley Ann Houchins, 87 of Pipestem, WV went home to be with the Lord at 2:30 a.m. Saturday July 12, 2025.

Shirley was born May 12, 1938 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Stonewall and Mary Lanford Runyon.

Shirley was a former employee of Pipestem State Park where she was dining room supervisor. She also worked at the Oak Supper Club in Pipestem for several years. Shirley was most of all a wonderful homemaker who loved gardening, canning and quilting. She will be remembered for having a gracious home to all who entered and will be missed by her entire family. Shirley attended Rich Creek Baptist Church as long as her health permitted.

Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. Houchins, Sr. in 2011. Also by one son, Robert L. "Bobby Lee" Houchins, Jr. in 2018. One sister, Betty Thomas and four brothers, Jack, Bob, J.W. and Teddy Runyon also preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory include three children, Linda Sue Hosford and husband Paul of Concord, NC; Daniel Ray "Boone" Houchins and wife Mary of Lerona, WV and Rita Faye Blackburn and husband Gary of Oak Hill, WV; grandchildren, Alicia, Micahi and Noah Houchins, Jesse Dawson (Heather), Desiree Jones, Hunter Houchins (Mercedes) and Hannah Houchins; great grandchildren, Landon, Maria, Harleigh, Brody, Lara, Koley, Jevin, Eva and Ivy.

Funeral services to celebrate Shirley's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday July 20, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Freddie Dove officiating. Burial will follow in the Houchins Cemetery at Pipestem, WV. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Jesse Dawson, Hunter Houchins, Justin Crawford, John Morefield and Gary Blackburn.
