Shirley Ann Sigmon, 77 of 102 2nd St. Hinton died Monday October 12, 2015 in Summers County A.R.H. Hospital following a short illness. Born March 17, 1938 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late Hayes and Ethel Meadows Persinger. Shirley was a graduate of Hinton High School and was retired from the Federal Prison Camp at Alderson. She was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Alderson Lions Club, where she served as treasurer. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Sue Allen and two brothers, Harold and Bill Persinger. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Sigmon. One son, Jeff Allen & wife Brenda of Hinton, one daughter, Rhonda Allen of Hinton. Two step-sons, David Sigmon & wife Marie of Valley City, OH and Steve Sigmon of Hinton. Two grandchildren, Seth Allen & wife Erin of Abingdon, VA and Megan Barton & husband Josh of Winston Salem, NC. Two great grandchildren, Brycen and Reagan Allen. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday October 17, 2015 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery on Powleys Creek. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Michael McAllister, Keith Surbaugh, David Sigman, Steve Sigman Mathew Pack and Nathan Trout will serve as pallbearers.
