Stephen Brian Adkins, II, age 23 of Hinton, WV, has peacefully transitioned from this world on January 22nd , 2020 from complications related to surgery.
Brian was preceeded in death by his grandfather Carl Adkins of Hinton, Gary Haga of Pineville, Jack and Jenni Lusk of Pineville, and his father Stephen Adkins of Hinton, WV.
He is survived by his mother Brandee Mullens of Beckley; sisters Shawna Adkind and Alexis Angell of Beckley; brother Josh Haga; grandparents Dorothy Adkins, Ruby Harvey, Ivan Gill, Tammy and Tim Ward, Dale Broom, Poncho and Patricia Angell. Aunt and uncles Nina and Josh Richmond, Noah Gill, Aaron and Christa Haga, Melissa Haga, his uncle and best friend Johnny Ward and strong Male role models that he had throughout his life Benny Angell and Andy Wills.
Brian enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, riding four wheelers, and hanging out with friends. Brian loved Tupac "ain't a woman alive that can take my mommas place"
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 25, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Cindy Allen will officiate. Private committal and burial will be in the Adkins Family Cemetery near Hinton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Note to all: addiction is a disease that has taken so many young lives. To the ones who battle this illness know that you have someone who loves you. No matter what, never be ashamed or afraid to reach out for help before it's too late. No greater support system then the ones who love you and don't want to lose you, let them be your help. Psalm 91- whoever dwells in the shelter of the most high will rest in the shadow of the almighty.
