It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of Tanya Marie Mickel, who left us unexpectedly on Sunday August 17, 2025.

Tonya was born August 20, 1968 in Ocala, Florida, the daughter of Paul E. Lane of Hix and the late Darlene Jones Lane.

Tonya was a wonderful homemaker to her husband and son and was gracious to all who entered. She loved caring for her chickens, fresh air and the mountains of West Virginia. She and her family cherished this area after living in Florida for many years. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was devoted to her faith. Her absence leaves a void that will never be filled.

Left to cherish her memory besides her father include her husband, Ronald Lee Mickel; beloved son, Joshua Lee Mickel at home; three siblings, Lynda Lavonne Phelan and husband Mike of Hix, Daniel Edward Lane and wife JeAnna of Middlesburg, FL, and Tressa M. Macklin and husband Robert of Hume, IL.

Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 30, 2025 at Gillian Cemetery on Tranquility Lane at Hix with Brother Bart Johnson officiating.  All those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
