Terry Lee Ratliff, 67, of Covington, GA, passed away on October 1, 2026. Born in Hinton, WV, on July 20, 1959, Terry was a man who brought immense warmth, joy, and a bit of competitive spirit to everyone who knew him.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Jane Kay Ratliff.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly, including his father, Jerry Ratliff ; his sister, Pam (Mike) Furbush; his grandson, Travis (Zoe) Floyd; and several cherished nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his very best friend, David White. Most of all, Terry leaves behind the absolute light of his life: his 5-year-old great-granddaughter, Effie Kay. As his "very favoritest person in the whole wide world," Effie Kay was his entire heart. The two shared an irreplaceable bond that brought Terry endless happiness.

An avid outdoorsman and sports fan, Terry loved nothing more than trips to the beach and fishing trips with his dad, Travis, and David. He was a passionate fan of women’s softball and basketball—especially pulling for Sophie Cunningham. Above all, he was a die-hard Georgia Bulldogs fan who lived for the moments the Dawgs whipped up on Alabama.

Graveside services honoring Terry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at Restwood Memorial Gardens with Pastor Butch Honaker officiating. Family and friends wishing to attend are asked to gather at Pivont Funeral Home at 12:30 pm to process to the cemetery for the service.

In honor of Terry’s favorite passion, the family requests that you please feel free to wear your Georgia Bulldogs attire. Terry would absolutely love to see a room full of red and black. Go Dawgs!
