Thomas E. Keaton, 81 of Pipestem, departed this world on Tuesday February 6, 2018 into the arms of his Lord and Savior with a smile and a look of joy on his face at Heritage Hall in Rich Creek, VA.

Born in Hinton, WV on July 18, 1936, he was the son of the late Sidney Keaton and Nell Bradberry Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his son, Phillip E. Keaton and one sister, Mary Fornaker.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Terry Keaton and one daughter, Debbie Cook and husband John of Marie, WV. Four grandchildren, Matthew Cook and wife Amy of Princeton, WV, Jennifer Clifton and husband Freddie of Savannah, GA, Melissa Keaton of Chester, VA, Matthew "Bucky" Keaton and wife Mindy of Richmond, VA. Eleven great grandchildren. One brother, Jack Keaton and wife Shirley of Clayton, WV. Two sisters, Kay Payne of Bellepoint and Nancy Riggs and husband Joe of Marietta, OH. Several nieces and nephews and special "Great" friends, Paul and Peggy Grimmett also survive.

Tommy was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church at Jumping Branch. He served his country in the Army stationed in Alaska. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially loving turkey hunting and digging ginseng. He was a faithful supporter of St. Jude's and the N.R.A.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday February 8, 2018 at Greenbrier Burial Park in Hinton with Pastor Bill Fox officiating. There will be no visitation. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be; John Cook, Jr., Matt Cook, Bucky Keaton, Scott Miller and Freddie Clifton. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Grimmett.
