Thomas Gwinn Nelson, 83 of Lowell, died Sunday September 11, 2016 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea following a long illness.

Born May 17, 1933 at Lowell, he was the son of the late Marion Earl and Mary Gwinn Nelson.

Mr. Nelson was a 1950 graduate of Talcott High School and operated Brookfield Farms his entire life. He attended and was an elder at Keller Presbyterian Church at Lowell and was a member of the Summers County Farm Bureau. He was a lifelong resident of Lowell.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda McMillion Nelson and one daughter, Dr. Sarah Nelson of Lowell.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday September 14, 2016 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastors Roger Persinger and Dana Stalnaker officiating. Burial will follow in Keller Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Lowell. Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be; Bill Irons, Roger Richmond, David Surgeon, Lowell Kirkham, Leslie Persinger, David Jones, Ronnie Bower, Darris Huffman and Jim Nelson. Honorary pallbearers will be; Roy Gill, Ronnie Palmer, Bob Mann, Jim Bowling, Andy Gwinn and Bill Humphrey.
