Obituary

Thomas Anderson Patrick Jr. lived an amazing life of 93 years before he passed peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 3, 2024, surrounded by family.

A lifelong resident of Hinton, WV, he was born Aug. 16, 1930, to the late Thomas Anderson Patrick Sr. and Eva Marie (Ratliff) Patrick.

Humorous, courageous, strong, genuine and compassionate, Thomas was a kind, generous man who blessed those around him and always offered a friendly word. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sharing stories and pleasant conversation, and often provided comfort and encouragement to those he loved.

For 43 years, he proudly served in the United States Army before retiring as Chief Warrant Officer. He was a member of Beech Run Baptist Church as well as VFW Post 4500 and Hinton Masonic Lodge No. 62. He also volunteered as a tour guide for the Veterans Memorial Museum of Southern West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Jackie Lee, nephew David Patrick, niece Jeanie Lee (Patrick) Meador, grandsons Stephen Patrick Jr. and Kevin Scott Patrick, granddaughter Erica Williams, and his best friend, Ray Whittle.

Surviving to cherish his memory forever are his beloved wife Patricia Ann (Williams) Patrick; brother, Richard Patrick and sister-in-law Gladys of Florida; son Stephen Patrick and daughter-in-law Rhonda of North Carolina, son Joseph Patrick and daughter-in-law Mary of Virginia, and daughter Melissa (Patrick) Biggy and son-in-law David of New Jersey; stepson Jimmy Williams and daughter-in-law Joy of Hinton, stepdaughter Wendy Williams of Hilldale, and stepson David Williams and daughter-in-law Michelle of Hinton; grandchildren Christian Patrick, Charity (Patrick) DeHerrera, Devonne Patrick, Herb Wills III, J.J. Williams, Ashley (Williams) Roop, Austin Williams, Felicia Williams, Shawna Brown, Joshua Williams, Thomas Williams and Stephenie Williams; nephews Charles "Pat," Ricky and Michael Patrick, and Shawn Broch, and nieces Jane Spangler, Sarah Patrick, Lori Jones, Kim Bartos, Cindy Meacham, Joyce Mehlhoff and Jewel Patrick; 22 great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends he knew and loved.

Family and friends may visit from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 at Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton. Funeral services will begin at 5 p.m. with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will be Monday, July 8 at Upland Memorial Cemetery, Hinton.
