Timothy James Plumley of Hinton, WV passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2024 in West Columbia, WV at the age of 68 following a short illness.

Born in Hinton, WV on April 19,1956, he was the son of the late Orville James and Lyda Reed Plumley.

Timothy was a resident of Hinton for most of his life.  He was a 1974 graduate of Hinton High School where he excelled as an athlete in football.  After graduation, he attended the US Military Academy at West Point and was a member of the Army football team.  He was also a student at West Virginia University.  Timothy was of the Christian faith and was an avid outdoorsman.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother-in-law, William "Bill" Kessler.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Starr Kessler of Shelby, OH and Sandra Gillespie and husband Wayne of Ballard, WV; nieces, Kelsie Spencer and husband Caleb of Ballard, WV, Dawn Trosper and husband Allen of Shelby, OH, and Cassie Miller and husband Corey of Ballard, WV; nephew, Matthew Kessler of Sandstone, WV; great-nieces, Avery, Kendall and Rylee Miller; great-nephew, Slaton Spencer; uncle, Allen Plumley of Hinton, WV; aunts, Jewell Thompson of North Ridgefield, OH and Lois Kincaid of Grafton, OH; several cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday September 14, 2024 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Gary Trout officiating. Burial will military graveside rites will follow in the O'Bryan Cemetery at Hix. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
