Obituary

Twyla Cain Wallace, 89 of 369 W. Washington St. Lewisburg, WV passed away Monday April 1, 2019 at Genesis, White Sulphur Springs.

Born in East Rainelle WV, March 6, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Boyd and Eunice Bradley Cain,

Ms. Wallace was a 1951 graduate of the C & O Hospital School of Nursing, Clifton Forge, VA, from Lynchburg College (VA) in 1978 with a B.S. in Health Sciences and Masters in Education, and  a Certificate in Massage and Bodywork in 1997 from the Virginia School of Massage. She was a Registered Nurse and a nationally certified massage therapist, licensed in West Virginia. She was a former In-Service director at Greenbrier Valley Hospital, Ronceverte, and at Heartland of Rainelle; Director of Nursing at Shenandoah Manor, Ronceverte, and an instructor of nursing at Roanoke Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and at Dabney Lancaster Community College. She was founder of Concerned Nurses of West Virginia and served many years as President; President and Volunteering Administrator of the Federation for Accessible Nursing Education and Licensure (FANEL); Chairman of the National Collation for Nursing Needs; and author of the books "Ask, Seek, Knock: The Power of Prayer", "Why Me, Lord?", and "Leftovers Made Over Cookbook". She started the first Future Nurses Club at Greenbrier East High School. Also started the Greenbrier Valley Support Group for Alzheimer's and continued as it's facilitator. She was a long time member of Lewisburg Methodist Church. She and her late husband, owned and operated the Jack K. Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack K Wallace and sisters, Freeda and Charlotte Cain.

Survived by daughter, Twyla Sue, son, Jack C. Wallace and daughter-in-law Pamela Wallace, and granddaughters Kimberly and Nicole Wallace.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday April 7, 2019 at Lewisburg United Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Halloran officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery at Lewisburg. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until service time on Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Twyla Wallace may be made to the New River Community and Technical College Foundation at 280 University Dr., Beaver, WV 25813, to be used to support the nursing students and the Lewisburg campus.

Men of Lewisburg United Methodist Church will serve as pallbearers.
