Vera Mae O'Bryan Kirk, 96 of Hinton, passed away Monday August 24, 2020 at Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Hilldale following a long illness.

Born June 18, 1924 at Hix, WV she was the daughter of the late George H. and Annie Meadows Adkins.

Vera was a retired nurses aid at Summers County Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hinton and dearly loved her church family. She was a long-time member of the church choir and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid flower gardener and a blessing to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Rathburn O'Bryan; second husband, Ray Kirk; 6 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews, along with 3 stepsons, Melvin Kirk & wife Michele of Albuquerque, NM, Henry Kirk & wife Corina of Concord, NC and James Kirk & companion Angie Sims of Sandstone, WV.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday August 27, 2020 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. Burial will follow in the O'Bryan Cemetery at Hix. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
