William J. "Bill" Anderson, 80 of Hinton passed away Friday May 2, 2025 at Summers County A.R.H. Hospital following a short illness.

Born July 22, 1944 in Hinton, he was the son of the late Elmer and Anna Josephine Bond Anderson.

Bill was a former employee of L&M Amusement Company in Hinton and was a former member of the Hinton Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching classic movies and listening to Elvin Presley. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR.

Besides his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer "Dink" Anderson and a cousin, Bill Giles.

Left to cherish his memory are a sister, Dreama Clemmer and husband Jerry of Stuarts Draft, VA; nephew Shawn Anderson and wife Carla of Winfield, WV, godson, Jaelyn Lester, and mothers, Heather and Jess, cousins, Betty Giles, Terri Giles and Ted Giles, all of Hinton as well as a very close friend, Betty Kessler of Hinton.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Robbie Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
