William Baxter Grimmett, 49 of Greenville, died Thursday August 27, 2015 at his home following a sudden illness. Born June 5, 1966 in Warm Springs, Virginia he was the son of Wilma Hawks Grimmett of Alderson and the late Cecil Lacy Grimmett. Mr. Grimmett was a laborer and enjoyed mechanic work. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing and taking walks in the woods. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Lacy Grimmett, Jr. Besides his mother, survivors include his wife, Roberta Turner Grimmett. One son, Emerson Grimmett of Greenville. Four daughters, Kimberly Lane & husband Gregory of Ballard, Samantha Grimmett of Alderson, Virginia Grimmett of Ballengee and Rebakah Grimmett of Barger Springs. Four brothers, Kennith Grimmett & wife Sara of Pembrooke, VA, Robert Grimmett of Nimitz, Charlie Grimmett of Hinton and Emory Gill of Beckley. Two sisters, Nellie Ewing & husband Rick and Vickie Gill & husband John, both of Hilldale. Six grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday September 2, 2015 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Anthony Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens in Hinton. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
