Lorena Yvonne Campbell Keaton, was born November 27, 1939, in Mabscott, WV, the seventh of 8 children to the late Robert T. and Lorene Neely Richmond. She passed away peacefully at home, in Graham, NC, on April 22, 2018, with her husband of 13 years, Patrick and loved ones by her side. She had previously resided in Hinton, and Beaver, WV.
She was a graduate of Hinton High School, and in l965, Yvonne completed the LPN Nursing Program at the Raleigh County Vocational and Technical School, in Beckley, WV. She worked as a school nurse for Summers County Schools, one of the state's first LPN's to serve in that position, and then at FMRS Mental Health System. Continuing her career, while raising four active teenagers, she became known as "the insurance lady" to many, and retired after more than 20 years of service with Prudential Insurance Company. She looked forward to family celebrations and enjoyed cooking, sewing, decorating, and travel.
In addition to her husband Patrick, she is survived by her children, Richard Lee Campbell, Jr. (Karen) of Southport, NC, Kimberly Curry (John), of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Lisa Williams (Dale) of Beaver, WV, and Melanie McMillan (Wendell), of Vienna, WV. Her surviving siblings are: Douglas Richmond, of Peru, IN, Janet Via, San Antonio, TX, Darrell Richmond (Willie), of Tampa, FL, Dean Richmond (Adela), of Graham, NC, and Drema Edwards (Dick) of Hinton, WV. Ten grandchildren are left to cherish her memory: Courtney Clark (Andrew), Caroline Sawyer (Ryan), Peyton Campbell, Kaitlin Curry, Kiersten Bills (Scott, Mary Kellan Curry, Nicholas Williams (Sarah), Meredith Casto, Scott McMillan (Gina), and Paul McMillan (Sara). Her two step-grandchildren are Nikki Hartsell (James) and Patricia Slinghuff (Aaron). Seven great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren also survive and were adored by her, and she loved having them visit. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Richard Lee Campbell, sisters, Jacqueline Richmond, and Jeanette Meadows, a sister-in-law, Janet Richmond, and brothers-in-law, Bill Meadows and Jimmy Meadows.
Services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, in Hinton, WV. Friends may call from 12-2:00 p.m. with Pastor Robbie Merritt, officiating the 2:00 p.m. service. Burial will follow at Restwood Memorial Gardens, with grandsons and sons-in-law, serving as pallbearers.
