Obituary

Zachariah James "Zach" Grady, 27 of Princeton, formerly of Hinton passed away tragically Tuesday September 26, 2023 from injuries sustained in an auto accident in Bluefield, VA.

Zach was born April 9, 1996 in Tampa, Florida, he was the son of Shawn R. Sr. and Patricia L. Sweetman Grady of Hinton, WV.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert John and Barbara Stoner Grady and maternal grandparents, Clarence "Mac" and Eleanor Sweetman.

Zach spent his youth in Florida before moving to Summers County in middle school. He was a 2015 graduate of Summers County High School, where he excelled in football and track, specifically shot-put, and he was a member of the  FFA.  After high school, he graduated from Northwestern Ohio University with certifications as a diesel mechanic and truck driver.  Zach then returned home and enrolled at Concord University, where he continued playing football for the Mountain Lions.

He was currently employed by Cole Chevrolet in Bluefield. His life was full for such a young man with varied interests. Zach was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a competition level power-lifter as well in former years, and was particularly found of scouting, having reached the pinnacle of Eagle Scout in that realm. In addition, he loved art, the Tampa Bay Bucanneer football team and was an aspiring gardener. Most of all, Zach was a wonderful husband and father who cherished every moment spent with his wife and two sons. Zach was a member of Ascension Episcopal Church in Hinton.

Besides his parents, those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Hayley Trzicak; two sons, Keiser and Kayden Grady both at home; one brother, Shawn Robert Grady, Jr. and wife Cecilia of Sellersburg, IN and one sister, Amanda Vaughan Grady of Hinton, WV;  nephew, Shawn Grady, III and nieces, Izabella and Zoey Grady; uncle,  Neil Sweetman of Orlando, FL; great uncle, Boyer Stoner and wife Rainey of Westminster, MD,  and his beloved canine, Kash.

Services to celebrate Zach's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 30th, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Rev. Nancy Martin officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Shockley Hill Church Cemetery in Hinton. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zach's family at City National Bank of Hinton, c/o Hayley Trzicak.
