Obituary

Zina Adkins, 77, of Elk Knob, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 23, 2017, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, following  a short illness.

Born in Hinton, November 29, 1939, he was the son of the late Oscar and Estella Adkins.

He was a member of the Church of the Living God, and he enjoyed  going to church, trading horses, and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Lewis, Snook, Willard, and Buster Adkins, and one sister Jennie Cook.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Helen Mary Richmond Adkins, two sons, Zina (Horse) Adkins and wife Becky of Forest Hill, and Rocky Adkins of Hinton, three daughters, Cindy Farris Berry of Glen Morgan, and Michelle Neely, and Misty Adkins, of Hinton, two sisters, Hallie Adkins of Hinton, and Ida Cook of Pipestem.  Five grandchildren, Tony and Tasha Farris, of Glen Morgan, Cody Adkins of Talcott, Jessie Neely of Hinton, and Wyatt Adkins of Forest Hill, and four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Pivont Funeral Chapel, in Hinton, with Pastors Ron Iddings, and Penny Seymour officiating.  Burial will follow at the Upland Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 p. m until time of the service on Saturday.

Grandsons and Lee and Ray Pivont will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Southern West Virginia, or the church of your choice.
